A PhD position is available immediately at the Institute of Medical Chemistry, Medical University of Vienna. The FWF funded project studies the interaction of small molecules with human ABC-transporters and their potential application in the treatment of diseases associated with aberrant protein folding. Applicants must hold an MSc degree with a strong background in molecular biology. We are looking for highly motivated candidates of all nationalities who have a keen interest in our research topic. We offer a multidisciplinary research environment within the framework of a collaborative special research program focused on membrane transporters (www.sfb35.at, project part 3509). In order to take advantage of this environment we expect and encourage an explorative attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Applicants should have a strong experimental background in molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry. Experience with mass spectrometry is preferred, but not essential. The position will receive funding from the Austrian Science Fund for a period of 3 years. The Institute of Medical Chemistry is located in vicinity of the historic center of Vienna and the teaching hospital of the Medical University of Vienna.
