Our goal is to understand the neural mechanisms of face recognition and attention. We use fMRI to localize face-selective regions and attentional control regions of the brain and then target those regions with recording electrodes to understand how facial they exert their particular function, and causal tools like pharmacology and optogenetics to systematically dissect neural circuits. We are also interested in the genetics and genomics of face recognition. I would welcome applicants with a strong neuroscience or genetics background who shares our fascination with face recognition and attention.
