POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

A post-doctoral position is available at the MRC Centre for Developmental
Neurobiology (CDN) in the laboratory of Manolis Fanto to study cellular mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Drosophila. The position, funded by the Medical Research Council, is available immediately for up to three years. Starting salary will be on Grade 6 scale (~ £33k to £39k, inclusive of London Allowance, per annum) subject to skills, knowledge and experience.
 
The MRC-CDN is rated as one of the best neuroscience institutions in the UK and is located at the Guy’s Campus of King’s College London, next to London Bridge station. The Fanto lab studies the mechanisms of neurodegeneration due to Atrophin and Fat with a number of advanced genetic and cellular approaches. Charroux and Fanto, Autophagy 6 (5), 667 (2010). I am looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in Drosophila genetics or neurobiology, capable of working independently on this project, whilst integrated into a larger group effort.
