The first project explores the molecular mechanisms by which broken chromosomes are transmitted efficiently to daughter cells (Royou et a., Cell, 2010<http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov.gate2.inist.fr/pubmed/20141837>). The second project will provide insight into the mechanisms that coordinate chromosome segregation with cell division (Montembault et al., JCB, in press).

The candidate will work closely with other team members using complimentary approaches including genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and live imaging. Candidates should hold a PhD and have a strong background in cell biology. We are particularly interested in candidates who are familiar with the chromatin field. Expertise in biophysics, microscopy, biochemistry or Drosophila genetics will also be welcomed.

The institute hosts young teams working in a multidisciplinary environment at the interface between Biology and Chemistry. The Royou group has access to cutting-edge technology platforms available at IECB and the University of Bordeaux, providing state-of-the-art mass spectrometry, structural biology and microscopy facilities.

Bordeaux is a dynamic city located in the South-West of France. It is 40 minutes from the nearest beach and surf spots, one hour from the Dordogne and 3 hours from the Pyrénées.
Candidates should send a letter of motivation and a CV including research experience and a list of publications.
