Two post-doctoral positions funded by an ERC starting-grant are available in Dr. Anne Royou’s group (CNRS), European Institute of Chemistry and Biology, Bordeaux, France<\/p>\n
\tThe lab studies two axes relating to chromosome transmission during cell division using Drosophila as a model system. The first project explores the molecular mechanisms by which broken chromosomes are transmitted efficiently to daughter cells (Royou et a., Cell, 2010<http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov.gate2.inist.fr\/pubmed\/20141837<\/a>>). The second project will provide insight into the mechanisms that coordinate chromosome segregation with cell division (Montembault et al., JCB, in press). <\/p>\n The candidate will work closely with other team members using complimentary approaches including genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and live imaging. Candidates should hold a PhD and have a strong background in cell biology. We are particularly interested in candidates who are familiar with the chromatin field. Expertise in biophysics, microscopy, biochemistry or Drosophila genetics will also be welcomed.<\/p>\n The institute hosts young teams working in a multidisciplinary environment at the interface between Biology and Chemistry. The Royou group has access to cutting-edge technology platforms available at IECB and the University of Bordeaux, providing state-of-the-art mass spectrometry, structural biology and microscopy facilities.<\/p>\n \tBordeaux is a dynamic city located in the South-West of France.
